The 33-year-old striker, who signed an 18-month contract at White Hart Lane, is now at his fifth Premier League club and he had no doubt in which direction title-chasing Tottenham were heading.

“I have a big challenge ahead, which is why I felt it was right to go,” said Saha, who could make his debut on Monday’s at Liverpool.

Saha’s transfer ended his threeyear stay at Everton, where he scored 35 goals in 115 appearances after signing for the Merseysiders from Manchester United.
